okay so like...i always say like like all the time. like why is that?? is there like something wrong wit like my speach that i should like always say like?? i mean like if there is then like maybe i should get some kinda like speech theripy. lol. hah. so um like what should i do. and could u like answer soon cuz i like have to meet my friends at the mall for like so starbucks and major shopping cuz i havent been in like almost a week! kk. hurry up and like answer k? muah!

I watched a student say "like" repeatedly in the very same manner that you did. This student was giving a presentation.

I decided it was because she was totally unsure of herself, and afraid to present herself as an intelligent woman.

She also seemed to be trying to relate to other students, and be cool. But what she left me with is a bad impression about her sense of self.


It's insecurity.

I have the tendency to say that too. I've been trying not to. It doesn't sound right and it's annoying for those who listen.

I, personally, only say "like" when it actually makes sense...such as "It was like, 4 hours."

"Like" taking the place of "about" or something.

Or just somthing simple, such as "I like pie."

Yes, it's normal. No, it's not right. Yes, it's bad grammar.

It is a habit. You are young and when you grow up you will see how silly you sound.
