A Hyundai mini van - something with enough seating for the peeps, enough safety to help you out. Or - probably a teeny bit pricier - a Subaru one - again, a great safety item (and it should have AWD)

Interested in a great car? Personal best recent experiences are with safe, roomy, and versatile Chevy Impalas. Good leg room for tall folks, good safety ratings for all, nice streamlined look ...

The Hyundai Sonata's classy looking; the new (Mercury?) Milan is appealing too.

Have fun looking for the best 'fit' for your family!

I think your mom needs to be the one making the decisions. You're talking a total of 8 kids and 2 adults. One of vehicles is best off being a minivan that can hold everyone.
I would think the other vehicle should be something like a Dodge Caliber, PT Cruiser, Toyota Matrix, or a large sedan.
The vehicles chosen should be the ones that are most practical for the family, not what you think is coolest.
