I WAS a heavy duty equipment operator (loaders, 100 ton trucks, backhoe, forklift, etc) then after my first baby came I decided to stay home. Now I have two kids age 8 and 3 and I wouldn't have it any other way, my little one is sick today and mommy is home with him - it makes my heart happy!
I made about $26 an hour. Your job sounds great, and juggling two kids! You should be real proud of yourself!!

I am an I.T. systems admin. for Sprint/Nextel. I live in Champaign, IL. I have a 4 year degree from Notre Dame, however, my degree isn't in I.T. My husband taught me everything I know, I passed the Microsoft A+ certs tests and a few years later, here I am. The pay is decent (approx. 80k a year) and my hours are flexible since I can work from home if need be. I have a 7 and 9 year old, so I can be there for any school activities and whatnot. Cheers!

Well, I'm an insurance agent for Allstate. I love my job.
I'm planning on having kids this year, and my job is going to allow me to work from home.
I didn't go to college, and I'm only 22 and have my insurance license in both Property & Casualty and Life & Health.
This opens the way for me to be very flexible with my jobs.
I live in SC.
And the pay is really good. I get a salary and commission also. I wouldn't change my job.

Just got my license as a real etstae appraiser trainee..Live in NJ usa
They are starting me off by doing the reports.. The income down the line,,when you are licensed (after 2000 hours of experience) is excellent. You go to school for 75 hours for this license.
The most important thing is to be able to find someone who will take you on as a trainee..Find them b4 taking the classes,,half of al people get the license and never find a trainer and go no further.
IF you can get a trainer..(ask teachers at real estate school or
realtors, loan officers, friends, family) it pays off later...
My boss does 50 apraisals a month at $200 ..each
I make a decent (normal) salary doing the reports and do them at home.

Good thinking! Do you know your interests and strengths? Try an on-line MBTI questionnaire, for example, to help find 'em (in identifying personality traits, it helps you see what kind of work may best suit you).
Me: A grad student and a small business owner (new consulting business - it's fun - in feng shui and related areas).
Depending on where you live, you might check out a certification program or simple informal classes to help you learn about something, like a community learning program.
Me: After lots of reading, I decided I wanted to do more than I was doing with my bachelor's degree, so I quit the nice corporate job I had in order to work on starting a business and going back to school. The feng shui formal training was short, with work both before I went and after I returned home (so it was convenient, as opposed to going away to school for a long time), and I find it rewarding because I get to help people solve problems in their lives and enjoy a fresh perspective. :) Feng shui's in line with counseling or even massage therapy, for hourly rates; think of it as a highly skilled, people-patient, act-on-your feet arena with long-term benefits for clients and you'll understand how we earn that (bonus: clients need us only occasionally, not like more frequent massage tune-ups).
I live in the Midwest, and it's a quieter place to introduce feng shui. Many people here haven't heard of it. But still, because I know how rewarding it can be to do something helping others, I advocate setting your sites on something even if it is unusual --- it will be worth it to you, in the long run, to find something you enjoy and find meaning doing, as well as where you earn decent pay! :)

im 15, and lucky enough to get a simple babysitting job in a church nursery. I work 1 hour a week, one day a week, and only if I can make it. And they pay me even if I don't get any kids. I know this is probably going to be the last easy job I ever get.

I go to college part time and work as a receptionist full time. Not the best job but I'm getting experience in the mortgage field and I still have time to study.
