Since that's where we're destined to go, apparently. My question is, what exactly is it? Is it the Divine Comedy version, with lots of demons poking me with pitchforks? Or is it a place where we're destined to live out our lives without ever being able to fulfill our "unnatural urges"? Because the latter sounds awfully familiar.

I've asked this in Religion and Spirituality as well. I was curious about the gay perspective.

Interesting analogy.

Actually hell is a threat handed down by a frightened bunch of religious people trying to keep free-thinking people from varying too widely from compliance with traditional thought.

Don't fear hell or hope for heaven. Now's about as good as you're going to get it, so make the most of it.

I always paint a picture of GLBTs lying on sun loungers and sipping on margaritas or daiquiris; being serviced by the succubi and incubi and watching all the fit demons stroll by (you've seen 'Charmed', right?).

Meanwhile, Satan is stoking the fire and brimstone barbecue, in preparation for another judgmental Christian being toasted for lunch...

Maybe hell is living here on earth. It's possible that we are here, reincarnated over and over until we get it right. Then maybe once we've succeeded, we get the invite to the big top in the sky. It's just one of many theories I have. Unfortunately, know one is going to know for sure until they get there, right?

hell is a place apart from GOD. hell is really a place and there are demons and there is fire and torture day and night constant torture . demons will tear the flesh off of you . you will not die you will not pass out . the demons will delight in watching you scream out while your in a pit of fire. you will find that all that felt good is gone you are in hell burning but first you will feel so cold and it will seem so dark even though the lights are on you will see the darkness that comes from being with out God.
pain with out end horror with out end suffering with out end thirst with out end hunger with out end. all of this and more is there if you don't accept that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that no man come to the father but through him. don't blame God and call him cruel he sent his own beloved son there so that you would have a way to escape hell. learn of Christ and his love and you will be in a place that is pure love forever
