If you feel hungry, and your doctor is ok with your weight gain, then EAT! I ate constantly when I was pregnant, it seemed, and I didn't gain more weight than my doctor wanted me to. Everybody is different; if you already had a high metabolism you had to eat a lot to take care of yourself, and now you have another human being to build, so you're simply going to need MORE food. Keep an eye on your weight, and eat healthy foods, but unless you see a problem with your weight, assume that being hungry means exactly what it's supposed to - that you and your baby need something to eat!

Eat lots of fiber and protein, that will keep you feeling full. Make sure its not wasted calories like junk food. If you eat healthy snacks that's fine, eat every two hours. Say for instance you have cheerios and blueberries for breakfast (around 8) to eat an apple or granola bar or oatmeal by 10 is fine (oatmeal keeps you full). Don't snack on junk because you're right you will NEVER feel full. Peanuts and cashews, just about any type of nut is a wonderful snack for fulfilling hunger pains. So watch WHAT you're eating not how often you're eating. If you're eating veggies, fruits and items high in protein or high in fiber you can eat about 6 times a day.And remember while being pregnant it's healthy, normal and expected to gain 25-35 pounds. Because it's not just you that needs the food. Your baby is hungry. You must feed him/her in order for him/her to be healthy. And in order for your body to give your baby the right supplements and develop baby correctly it takes a lot of calories. Don't worry about it. You WILL LOSE IT postpartum. If you're naturally thin with a high metabolism don't worry, that won't change. Once you've delivered you'll lose it fast. Enjoy while you can, you are eating for two now.

I had the same issue. What I did was whenever I would get hungry I would eat tons and tons of fruits or salads, soups, tuna fish sandwiches and stuff like that. Now if your eating junk food then that's not good cuz your seriously going to gain alot of weight. Just eat alot of healthy stuff, and every now and then treat yourself with your favorite food. You have to eat! Baby's telling you that he/she is hungry. It's normal but eventually it will go away cuz I use to be like that and I am now 29 weeks pregnant and sometimes I don't even feel hungry. Sometimes I would eat only 2 times a day. I actually feel full most of the time. Congrats!

12 lbs is not a lot of weight to have gained at 22 wks, so I'd say you're on the right track. If you're hungry, you should eat, just don't overdo it! Eat lots of fruits and veggies, they're good for you, and will fill you up without a lot of calories.

along with all the above, make sure you are eating a lot of high protein foods, these keep you extra full. or also, try oatmeal, seems to really fill people up well. but also, who cares, gain the weight while you have the excuse, you will lose it after the baby comes eventually, who cares tho for now, you should enjoy every second.

well it takes alot out of you to grow a baby.
YOu need to eat more often and healthy foods
If you are eating healthy low fat foods then you shouldn't gain that much extra weight.
You need to make sure your baby gets the nutrition it needs. YOur body tell you its hungry because it needs something. You are lacking somethign that you body needs and wont stop until you get what it needs.
I mean your baby is taking in alot of what you are eating so don't worry about it...
And you'll loose the wieght after wards with diet and exercise any ways...

Drink more water with your meals one extra glass with meals will help. The baby is really growing now so you need the calories. i was exactly the same way as you are thin but constantly hungry. It's the only time you really get to eat what you want indulge but choose healthy snacks.

Thtis is normal. You have to increase your intake of calories when you are pregnant. Just try to decrease the amount of sweets so that your baby is given proper nutrition. This is the time when women put on the most weight. The last few weeks you will hardly be able to eat because your stomach will be all squished.

Try drinking a big glass of Milk when you get that hungry feeling. If you just ate and still feel hungry try the drink called Ensure. It is a supplement that will help curb your hunger pains between meals and snacks, + it has tons of vitamins. My Dr. put me on them because I lost almost 20 lbs. during my first trimester.

Don't worry, you are carrying a baby so you are eating for two. You HAVE to eat more than you used to. Don't worry though, after you have the baby you will get back to eating normally and you will lose the weight quickly.
