wipe off all you can,try not rubbing it into carpet as you wipe. Then, get a bowl of hot water, put some detergent in it or get some DAX carpet cleaner,or any other good carpet cleaner with disinfectant,Using a clean white towel or brush(use a hard brush)
Dab it in the hot soapy water and scrub lightly, dab again and scrub lightly, when you can see that most of the stain has come off, then using another area of the towel, dab in the hot soapy water and squeeze lightly then scrub really hard.Repeat again and again until you can hardly see the stain, usually the stain should be light brown or just dark,so oi this disappears then you have been successful. Then ,now get a dry towel, preferrably white as well and scub the wet patch,so that the towel can absorb most of the moisture.Keep doing this until the carpet feels not so wet to the touch, then do the rest of the drying with a hair dryer or leave it to dry naturally.Be careful not to tread on the wet spot until it is completely dry.Goodluck!

You will have to carefully wash it tepid water first. Don't not rub otherwise the colour with penetrate the fibres of the carpet. Rinse very well. Then repeat process using a small amount of car shampoo very minute amount. Then rinse again and gently wipe dry. When dry vacuum.
Nothing much else you can do except in future make everyone take there shoes off before they walk on the carpet again.
Or make you dog wipe it's bum outside and not inside the house.
Rather you than me.

I use Greased Lightning which is a multi-purpose cleaner and degreaser. I have light beige carpet and it works great for my little dog pooh. I became a believer in this product when it took "RED" paint off my son's white carpet. You can buy it at most grocery stores, Kmart, Walmart, etc.

A wet extraction machine will work best. Other methods will actually force the feces into the carpet and you want to pull it up out of the carpet. Make sure and spray the spot with an enzymatic pet stain remover first. This contains enzymes that actually eat the feces or urine and make it clean up better and will take care of any residual stuff over time.

Go to walmart and get a product called totally toddler (in the baby section, not the cleaning aisle), it's great, it takes out any stain imaginable, and gets rid of odors. It has a natural enyme in it that actually eats stains. Also, becasue I ran out of this wonderful product I bought spray and wash dual power stuff, and it's also great.

use ERA liquid detergent.
it is best on protein stains.
pretreat with full strength ERA, let sit for about 15 minutes.
then add a bit of warm water, get it all soapy, then blot with paper towels.
then rinse with water and keep blotting and rinsing til the stain is gone.
i have a dog that does this when he is sick and ERA works every time!
