It is very unlikely that this vessel will be left to break up naturally
political forces will make shure that she will be salvaged.
it is highly unlikely to be repaired as i suspect water damage to machinery etc will be to great for the insurers.

It was deliberately beached so it didn't break up in the water or sink. In the case of a Container ship, unlike Tankers they have a higher structural strength and she will probably be refloated, repaired and re instated as a Cargo Ship again.
Despite this, Medite ships are notoriously regarded as pieces of total crap throughout the industry, which is a shame because the Filipino Crewmen are excellent.

Just like with a vehicle, the insurance will evaluate if the repairs are going to be more than the worth of the vessel, and act accordingly. As to what will happen then, I don't know.
They have launched a clean up effort for the spilled oil. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/content/articles/2007/01/24/napoli_oiled_birds_feature.shtml for more on that.

The last I heard, there was a thought that they might be able to bodge it up just enough to refloat it temporarily and drag it somewhere where they could break it up safely. They doubt if it'll ever be repairable enough to go to sea again.
It depends, of course, very much on what the weather does to it in the meantime.

No, I believe the Dutch have a enormous barge that can lift it out of the water and take it to the scrap yard, it will take months but I think it will eventually be gone.

I believe the plan is to take off the cargo, which will lighten the ship and allow them to re-float it and tow it to harbour. It may then be repaired, or it may be scrapped safely.

They are taking the cargo off with grains ,so i think that they will try to re float the ship once all the cargo is unloaded .if they can,t they will cut it up for scrap ?
