most audiophiles are frustrated over mp3 players....

i wont point out brands, but here are some features you'll want to see:

capable of playing mp3's with at least a bitrate of 320bps
must have an equalizer
must not have background hiss

That would depend. If you want a vast library of music, and you want to download it legally (you should), then go with an iPod. iTunes had a vast online library, and it has an easy way to configure your songs. Plus there is a huge fan-base for iPods, so if anything goes wrong, or if you have a question about something, then there is actually people willing to help. Unlike some other mp3 player companies, Apple actually tries to help you when your mp3 player is having problems. Plus they come in massive sizes, and if you buy a video type, you can watch all of your music videos!

well the ipod doesnt have a custom eq.. the sounds isnt that great either..
the creative zen vision m is better. custom eq. HIGH sound to noise ratio.. 97 db. which means it doesnt hiss much.
and its just plain better.
