Use vodka - When you see it remove the paint - you'll never drink the stuff again - Leaves no stains and doesn't smell - This does work - I've done it myself (it is after all - a lot of alcohol)

Use some kerosene or turpentine, dabbing on a cloth after dropping some on the stain and leaving for a few minutes, then scrub with the cloth, preferably a towel. This dissolves the gloss paint, then after most of it has been removed, use very hot soapy water to wash out the alkaline solution using the same method, and use a dry towel to scrub the patch dry.

Use nail varnish remover. Just dab a little on, leave it a minute to soften, dab off all you can and repeat until paint has gone.

I tried turps but it didn't work. As it was a small area (paint dripped from newly painted radiators) I ended up cutting the paint out. It doesn't show where I've cut the pile.

There is a product you can buy, at major hardware and paint stores, called OOPS, that will remove dried paint from almost anything. This might work.

try using a cleaner called Lestoil. I've used in on some jeans to bring out paint and it brought it right out. You have to let it soak for a little while, then wash it out. It works miracles!

You can't once it's dried. If it's a large area, then its time for a new carpet (your household insurance should cover this).
