Solve. 6x + 4(3x – 2) = 6x + 2
1) remove all ( )
6x + 12x - 12 = 6x + 2

2) move all x to the left of = all numbers to the right of =
the sign change of the part you move.

6x + 12x -6x = 2 + 12

3) evaluate
12x = 14

4) divide by the number before the x ( if any )
x = 14 / 12

and that is all Angy

1. 6x+4(3x-2)=6x+2
6x+12x-8=6x+2
18x-8=6x+2
12x-8=2
12x=10
x=10/12 or 5/6
2. You draw a dotted line vertically through x and then shade to the right
3. x/2=-1
multiply both sides by 2 and get x=-2
4. 8-(4x-3)=19
8-4x+3 =19
-4x+11=19
-4x = 8
x=-2
5. draw a vertical line through 3
6. Sub in each ordered pair for x and y until you get a true statement. The solution is A
