Shouldn't we give some credit to GWB for immediately defending her?
I don't want to hear about how thousands of soldiers are dying in Iraq because of GWB, blah, blah, blah. I just want to focus on THIS TOPIC. I made fun of Nancy and called her a hypocrite too before I knew the entire story. Personally, I still think the jet is excessive, with or without Bush's approval, but you've got to admit, he was the first to defend her--one of his most vocal adversaries.

Yeah, I thought it was great that he and Snow did not take the chance to jump on her. Good job George. I wish there was more of that in govt. I don't dislike George Bush, just his policies.

I support Pelosi but the first thing I thought was she is using Bush`s fear tool of 911 to get something she wants or done. I do think she should have a plane that can go coast to coast without refueling.

What I don't get is why should they be worried about the Jet being able to go coast-to-coast without refueling. It would be an Air Force Jet. Even if they had to refuel they would likely be stopping at an Air Force Base to refuel. Is her staff worried that a member of the Air Force would be trying to kill her or them. If that is the case then they shouldn't be getting on an Air Force jet.

I gave him credit for that yesterday, and for acknowledging global warming. The cons are the ones who are up in arms, and they have spoken. They are now further divided among their ranks, and have chosen to hate the left no matter what the facts are, no matter what there president believes. Some people are just lost if they cannot hate something.

Bush has no other option but to DEFEND Pelosi, whose approval rating is TWICE that of Bush. It's only logical to defend Pelosi given that she did NOTHING wrong, and even the White House admitted it.

Can you be fair and criticize Bush for his litany of lies and failures vis-a-vis Iraq, Katrina, etc.?

Yes. I think it shows that maybe he isnt as bad of a guy as everyone thinks he is. I know that this war is making everyone crazy, but you cant judge him only on this one thing, even if it is a really big thing.
