Your life is what you make it so the good news is you have the power to change almost everything you mentioned. If things are bad with your husband, change it! Sit down and talk to him and work out how you can both move forward. Don't let things fester. If you can't move forward and your relationship is still bad, get out of it! Life is to short to put up with relationships that make us unhappy! There are so many ways you can feel more positive! Why don't you book a holiday or a weekend away with your girlfriends to give you something to look forward to? For a quick feel good fix, I suggest calling up your friends and arranging a good old fashioned girly night out, away from work and your husband so you can let your hair down! Why don't you change your look? try a new style or a new hair colour! Spend a day at the beauty salon spoiling yourself! Go on a shopping spree! Your so young and you have your whole life ahead of you! You're only 4 years older than me! its a crap time of year and every ones depressed and at times when you're feeling down like this, you're bound to miss and need your mum. But if you surround yourself with positive people and give yourself treats and things to look forward to, your energy and positivity will return!

I also miss having a mum. I get over this by trying to imagine what she would say to me if she were here now.
I've always wanted a substitute mum, I never really looked for one, thinking that no-one would want me, but perhaps, on reflection that was too negative & I should have made more effort to find & befriend an older woman who was kind, considerate, caring, wise and near to me, who perhaps could also do with having a friend?
Getting drunk doesn't solve anything.

It sounds to me as if you are overwhelmed. Here's some pointers that always work for me, i'll list from inexpensive to pricy - get your haircut and go shopping in a pricier store where you can try different perfumes you may like (keep a tester strip for your purse & everytime you open is nice to remember) and sometimes they have woman who give you free makeovers just to get you to buy a product. - Get decked to the hilt and take yourself out for a few drinks at a classy hotel lounge (at a minimum you may meet a cute single bartender who'll compliment you all night long) & then there's sheer indulgence - take yourself to a dude ranch for a 4 day, 3 night weekend - most of these places have spas & are geared toward "special" treatment of young woman in need - "save the horse and (maybe) ride a real cowboy"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know some one in a similar position (apart from Moms OK - Sorry for your loss) so I will tell you what i told him - March marks the beginning of spring, why don't you let it mark a new start for you - get a few weeks away from home life and get your head together and assess if you are where you want to be
