My hubby had it done, and yes it was sore and bruised for about ten days.
However he was able to go back to work the day after( wearing loose trousers)
Painkillers and some warm baths helped and lots of sympathy from me of course...........(Nah not really I laughed at his funny walk and swollen bits for days...,after all, Im the poor soul who's had three babies!!
Top tip though, get someone to give you a lift home from the hospital, especially if you ride a motorbike!! (or a horse)

Ask yourself this: would you cut off your ear? Or your nose?
If you're a Jew or a Muslim then you should have had it done. However I've heard that in the USA people have circumcision all the time. However, why exactly would you cut off part of your body> It's just wrong. Anyway, if it's because your foreskin is too tight to pull back then you can stretch it and pull it back gently over a couple of weeks - so there isn't really need for a circumcision.
If it's a vasectomy then I would imagine yes- there's loads of nerves and veins in the scrotum that just get cut off. However if you could deal with the pain then you'll be sterile (if that's what you want) even if it will look a bit odd.

THE SNIP? CIRCUMCISION? When I was circumcised, I couldn't walk for a year!
Now the SNIP...if you're talking about the VASECTOMY. Best $220 I ever spent back in 77. I went home(Friday), put on a pair of speedos, got an ice pack and put it between my legs for the rest of the day/evening. Saturday, I wore the speedos beneath my jeans and went to my in-laws for a cook out. Just laid out on Sunday and went to my DESK JOB on Monday. Tender but it didn't really hurt.

Nope, not really. During the operation you get a local aneasthetic so you don't feel a thing. After the op you feel a little bit tender for a day or two (warm salt water baths help) but that's about it. I walked 5 miles the day after the op with no discomfort at all.
The main piece of advice I can give is take a pair of close-fitting underpants to the op (NOT boxers!). Afterwards you won't want them dangling and swinging about!
My op would have been a lot better if the aneasthetist hadn't approached me with the needle and said "just a small prick..."

No, it is a very minor procedure, its done under local takes about 20 minutes and you function completely normally after a short recovery period.
Let's face it it hardly compares to the pain and discomfort of giving birth! Be a man not a mouse! She will love you for it, it always scores a few Brownie points.

Only mildly but quite a bit of embarassment is involved and the whole process takes months from end to end unless you use private medicine. Question is, can you trust the process to provide lifelong contraception?

I had it done less than six months ago and I had no need for pain killers or any kind. All I required was ice for the swelling and that was only for 2 days.
