Belgians wear just like other Europeans and that is in general less sporty and more classy than in US BUT:
we have a typical and fine sense of humour full of self-mockery:
If you have to be funny, you would win the contest if you find a costume of french fries (which actually are Belgian) or huge mussel.
If you rather want to refer to our traditional folklore, you may dress like a "Gilles de Binche", see the link below.
If you want to refer to Belgian comic heroes, dress like Tintin or Spirou...

It is difficult, if not impossible to develop traditions when you are only 60 years old. What you will see are those traditions from Germany and Russia.
