As others have said - it does exist. Sometimes we get forced into situations where we have to live in a way that makes others happy rather than ourselves due to extended family isues, work environment etc. There are times when you can love someone but only get a few rare moments to truly share it and that is what I saw in the movie. Even when Jack died and Ennis met his parents, it was obvious that Jack's mom understood the conflict but his dad did not - pretty much like the world is: split on whether to accept or not. Even in those few moments they shared together, they may have gotten more fulfillment than some people get in a lifetime. I think that Ennis character also showed the struggle a lot of people go thru when they try to have it both ways, or can't admit internally they are gay or bi until it is too late.

yes, I believe love like that exist today in the world, I mean look at all hope the gays act. Some are not ashamed to show that they have feelings or love for another human.

Fact is, it does exist, but it's a point of frustration in both party's lives.
Neither character was truly happy; both felt trapped in their marriages. The characters in Brokeback did not live happily ever after.
Yet there was a sense of joy and abandon when they were together on their "fishing" trips.
Closeted lifestyles are not generally healthy ones.

Forgive me for saying, but are you implying that the love shown in the movie is not legitimate unless it's heterosexual? I would hope not. As for your question, yes it can exist, it is difficult and can test the patience and fortitude of anyone, but such love is so passionate, so painful in its ecstasy that it can rip you apart. I know because I went through it only to have my love torn from me by the hatred of the world. We were together 10 years before 6 teenagers killed him with a baseball bat. Believe me, that kind of love is real.

I have Jack and Ennis beat by a country mile.
The love of my life and I were both strong enough to profess our love and have been together 16 years.

yes, I think it can and does. But I find the story sad, even though Jack and Ennis love each other, they do not live a life together and make their lives complete, and truly live for and with each other.
