Don't go to GA it is hot, very humid, old, and nasty down there. Stick to Michigan I know what I am telling you!

I just moved to Atlanta about a month from Ohio and to tell you the truth it is big in properties and then of course traffic is horrible but the opportunities economically are excellent but if you are looking for something around your price range depending where your job is located and if your job is in downtown I would consider taking a look into the county's taxation, school system because it becomes expensive when it comes to some of the suburbs and gas prices. I currently live in Duluth and taxes are not so bad but sometimes Home Owners Association don't cover the garbage bill and that is expensive I currently pay around $60 -70.00 in garbage, isn't that ridiculously insane.

Marietta, Powder Springs, Austell, basically western Cobb county. Do you have a job already lined up? What part of the city will you be working? Traffic can get bad on the interstates around Atlanta and it's nice if you can keep your commute down.

I would try the following cities Lithonia, Stone Mountain, Austell. All are about 15 min from Downtown Atlanta, and are considered surburbs.

If you are looking for sizable cities, Atlanta is probably a good bet. Plenty of jobs and housing is still affordable in many areas. Not sure of your price range for apartments - but try Cobb county. Decent areas and schools

You might consider Cartersville, Kennesaw, something along in there. They are typical commuter communities, with housing available in your price range. Welcome to the South.
