I am 35 weeks pregnant and I am CONSTANTLY sleepy. I feel like I am not getting enough sleep and I am finding it hard to get up the energy to do much of anything. I get about 7-9 hours of sleep every night and have a healthy diet. I am also taking my prenatal vitamins and iron supplements for anemia. With my other children, I had already kicked into the nesting period by now, you know...where you get the surge of energy & start cleaning and preparing for baby??!! Is this normal or should I contact my doctor?

Of course you are more tired, not only do you have anaemia, and are pregnant, but have older children to look after.
Give your self a break and allow yourself to rest during the day as much as you can.

And I have to say that I NEVER had the nesting instinct thing with my daughter, which was annoying!

I know what u mean! but i have been like that since i became preg. I am now 6mos and at times its like im lathargic lol. this is my 3rd and totally different then the first two. 3rd times the charm i guess lol. many times for me... sleeping is the only way i feel ok. when im up i get nausious alot so i have to lay down to relieve it. yes u can talk to ur doc about it and maybe he can tell u if there is a problem but i think for u, u are just tired and ur body is getting ready for sleepless nights and that hard labor. take ur time and when u are up try and do lil things to get ready for baby. good luck and God Bless

i would think maybe its normal, i reember feeling that way right before i gave birth, like litteraly a week. i nested early tho, around 30-35 weeks, then i rested.. maybe god is trying to slow you down because you are about to have a VERY hectic schedule when this new baby arrives on top of your other children.lol. but call your nurse if you instincts are bad. better safe then sorry.

Well if you are already taking your prenatals and Iron pills, I would suggest talking to your Dr. about it. Good Luck.

Being pregnant puts a strain on your entire body, which can make you awfully tired.

If a good cup of coffee doesn't help, then it's time to see your doctor.
