I am a healthy 24 year old. I don't smoke or drink. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years and finally we get pregnant 2 times in 3 months both ending in miscarriages. I can't continue to go through this and I was wondering if there is anything I could do to make sure this doesn't happen again.

I am so sorry for your losses. You need to discuss this with your doc. a miscarriage is something that happens when the fetus is not growing correctly or has defects and your body miscarries it. After multiple miscarriages your doc should put you on progesterone shots and do chromasomal testing, it could be you or your partners DNA. Usually a miscarriage is something that you cannot avoid or do anything about.

I understand your pain. My husband and I have had 4 miscarriages, 3 of which were in the 2nd trimester. It is very important to see you doctor and express your concerns. With you previous miscarriages were there any tests done? There are alot of different issues that can cause miscarriages. Some are never found and you may go on to get pregnant and have a happy healthy pregnancy. Best Wishes to you!

A miscarriage is NOT your fault!!! EVER!

If you have had more than one pregnancy loss, it would be a good idea to see your doctor. You might ask for a test to see if you have ANTICARDIOLIPIN ANTIBODIES (also known as ANTIPHOSPHOLIPID ANTIBODIES) as they can cause repeated pregnancy loss but can be treated fairly easily in pregnanc w/ baby asprin and heparin or lovenox injections.

Before you see the doc, you might try charting your cycles though. Low progesterone can cause pregnancy loss and can be pretty easily detected by charting. It can also tell you if you have other issues which you can fix yourself or will need a docs help for.

Some good sources: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software) and Garden of Fertility.

You really need to consult with your doctor about what is going on. Pregnancy is a fairly fragile and complicated thing, though you would never know it by the number of people on this site that are always in the "family way" by accident!! There may be issues with your uterus that can be resolved with medical attention. I wish you the best of luck. I have experienced miscarriage and I am really sorry for your losses.

Miscarriage is not automatically the fault of the mother. All you can do is try to be healthy, careful, and trust your Doctor. My sister had 5 miscarriages before she got her two beautiful little girls. None of them were her fault. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

I am surprised you had two miscarrages so close together and knew it. My doctor said so many women have miscarriages so early they just assume it is their period. I definately would talk to your doctor. Good Luck and God Bless You!!!!
