I lost a cell phone last night. It's cingular. Can i get a new phone with the same number? Or do I have to change my number? Please help.

Call Cingular (1-866-241-6567) and report your phone is LOST. This will allow Cingular to turn off service so no one else can use your phone.
You can keep your old number. You have a few options regarding a phone.
1. Get a new one from Cingular. If you had insurance, it will cost $50 or so. If it is time for you to upgrade, then you can get one for free or cheap.
2. Get one off eBay or Amazon. You can buy many of the popular phones for cheap on the auction sites. Then you simply go to a Cingular Company Store and get a new SIM card (about $25-$30).
3. Use an old phone you have laying around or a friend's phone. As long as it is GSM (takes a SIM) you should be ok. T-Mobile uses SIM technology, too. Especially if you think your phone may turn up in a day or so, you may want to use an older phone til you know for certain that yours is gone forever.

If your on a contract than you can get a new phone with the same number, if you had insurance on it then it should cost you between $0-$50. If you didn't have insurance than you'll have to buy the phone at full cost.

First u should look every where you've been. If u cant find it and get a new phone u can have the same phone number.It has happened to my friends dad before he got a new phone with the same number.

call verizon, have it close off as temp lost / stolen so if someone has it they don't ring up your bill. I artwork for sprint and characteristic considered peoples telephone get stolen and their bill went up $a million,000 they had to pay because they did not record the phone as stolen. After that refer to verizon and word once you've any coverage on the phone, and pray that you do, or you want to easily purchase a clean telephone.
