And why does Bernard Matthews need to transport meat all over the world, just to increase his profits? Why not keep the food in one place to save fuel costs and the environment?

I think battery egg production should stop - the conditions the animals are kept in are ridiculous - they are so confined they can't even stretch their wings.

I think battery egg production should stop, who knows what caused the Avian Bird Flu in the first place, it sure will get round all the hens quick in that environment.

It would be a good idea if each country could produce food to feed the people in their own country, it would save on fuel costs and reduce carbon emissions, it would possibly reduce the spread of disease too.

I don't think Bernard Matthews will not be in business for much longer, but in answer to the 2nd part of your question he was probable exporting all over the world for at least three reasons I can think of 1) to increase profits 2) because he could 3) because there was a demand.

Let's look after the land and the animals that provide us with food.

yes i do. when i'm shopping in asda i see so many battery laid eggs going to waste cos no one likes to buy them. barn eggs should be available as cheapest choice and battery eggs should be off the shelves. who likes eating chicken periods anyway? lol
