We live in California and just bought a house in Indiana. Members of my family have seen it, and our real estate agent sent us loads of pictures, but we've never been there. Next week we are moving in. It's surreal.

I'm a REALTOR, and I had overseas clients who went thru me to pick out a home site and builder to build their new construction home. Doing the same, I sent a multitude of photos, builder home designs, etc. to make the challenge easier.

They moved into their home, love it, and we continue our relationship. :-)

Best of luck to you!!

well i guess as long as other people have seen it, me and my husband bought our first house awhile back, and we fell in love with the neighborhood more so, and did love the house as well... but we were moving in here, we had our mind made up, we were only able to have one tour of it, right before we were walking down from the upstairs, my husband put his arm up against the wall to just lean back for a sec, and the wall pushed in, didnt break, but it obviously had some give, we were like WHOA!!!! and the real estate guy was obviously trying to hide it.. so we got it inspected and saw all the water damage behind the wall...neadless to say we got a lot of money at closing to fix it.

I buy homes sight unseen a lot, but always investments. Not my personal residence.
I would be a little concerned about that.
why didn't you fly out to see it? I would spend the few hundred to make sure my investment of several thousand was worth it.
I don't understand why you didn't do this, plane tickets are so cheap now adays

i've never done that before. When my parents bought a house, they went to the palce at least a few times before buying it. They wanted to see what the house looks like, but they also wanted to check out its neighborhood. It could be quiet in the morning, but noisy at night. also, they wanted to know if there is public transportation , any gocery stores, schools... etc...

good luck
