Im not afraid of anyone but I think for some white people it really depends on the person they are coming in contact with. I mean if you see an African American in A buisness suit then you are not so worried...but if you see one with baggy pants, chains a dew rag, smelling like weed it tends to initiate a fight or flight response in people. I myself can understand cultural differences but some people are so used to being around a certain style of people they judge based on apperance and it scares them.

Well if you can handle the Truth here it is...................
Black people have long held in anger toward the white people. Even though slavery ended long ago. They have more rights today (even more than the white people). They still claim that they are being treated unfairly (which is a crock). Black people tend to be more angry at us still than we are at them. I for one have no hatred for black people, spanish people Asians, Indians etc. But what I do have a problem with is when they complain about them not having equal rights. They need to stop look around and realize that they have it better NOW than the white people. How they choose to use their right is up to them. They could dwell on the past (which most do) or they could move on and become better like many African american Idols do. So I believe that you areone of those who can't let the past be the past otherwise this STUPID question would NOT have been posted. Just my opinion.

You might have gotten decent answers if you hadn't clumped the white race together. You know it's not ALL whites. Now you've offended people so you'll probably never get the answers you were looking for.
My guess though, for the ones that do fit this description: Experiences with the aforementioned cultures that were negative sometimes influences people's assumptions.

The media (TV, music, etc) turns people into wannabes. It's aimed at children who don't know any better. Anybody who's "cool" (according to music videos and popular culture) dresses like a thug and speaks all "gangsta." I'm not even saying this is how all black people are.. but it's the way certain black people who are the media's role-models for kids (like 50 cent and Nelly) portray themselves.
White people are afraid of different ethnic groups because of the media as well. I have little exposure to black communities but from what I see on TV, I'm not welcome there.
We all fear or hate eachother out of ignorance.

I can assure you I am a white girl that does not admire or envy any of the cultures you mentioned. And I think that you have it wrong. I would not in a million years want to be black, asian, latino, arab or indian. Scared may be a useable term, with everyone but the Japs. But no one is afraid of the Japs, they are the nicest, most harmless bunch of people I know.

I know what you mean !! This white guy was walking along, talking on his cell phone, when a young black guy jerked it out of his hand. The white guy calmly said, " Give it to me. " The black guy says, " You can have it for $ 50.00". The white guy says, " I said, give it to me". The black guy starts tossing the phone in the air. So, that angry white guy just beat the living crap out of him, and laid him out cold. People the street watching all of this cheered. Sure seems to me that the white guy did not envy or admire this guy at all. Yep... you are so right ! There are some angry whites among us. Watch your back.

Well I'm white and i have no hatred towards the origins of certain cultres. One thing that i think white people envy is that other races seem to bond better, wither white people there isnt a common bond that can hold us together.
