Jocelyn Noveck, AP writer, says that we "cared" about Anna Nicole Smith because Smith, in the words of celebrity editor Janice Min of US Weekly, "persisted, where others would have shrunk away out of humiliation and shame."

Hunh?

Persisted?

People watched because you can't take your eyes off of a train wreck.

Can anyone here say they watched because they admired the way Smith conducted her life?

Celebrity worshippers Kate, Me, Tink, and Rose...know more about Smith than people in their own towns who meet unfortunate early deaths.

I think they mean we "cared" as in we had an interest in her. Whether someones high morals make them look down on her for posing for Playboy, or someones jealousy of her beauty, fame and wealth cause them to dislike her. Its hard to deny that her life story isn't fascinating. If it were a movie, u wouldn't believe it was true. Admired or not, she held her own in the world of "celebrity" which most Americans can't get enough of.

If you could be half as successful as she was, you wouldnt be asking this question. It is kind of like Jessica Simpson, she played everyone by acting like a dumb blonde. It is all about packaging - they play what will sell.

But her life really was tragic because of the fame and publicity - everything she did was public knowledge but what happened to her son was sad and too much for her to handle. Before that she was strong and determined. It was like losing her best friend and she couldnt go on.

Leave her alone please.

I have to say I couldnt watch her reality show bec it was like a train wreck and it made me mad to see how her son was having to act like the adult and she did things that he shouldnt have been envolved in. BUT when her son died I felt for her, no one should ever have that happen to them ever and now that she is gone to I feel terrible for her daughter who will never know her (maybe that is a good thing?) but still. She was a human who had MANY probelms in her life and I do feel bad a human life is gone to young!

I think that we should remember someone no matter who it is in dignity ,love and grace as we all would like to be remembered . You almost have to feel sorry for her because she was such a sad soul . Please remember that . good luck.
