my laptop is Centrino Duo(1.8GHz) IBM-lenova T60 model.

i keep it switched on most of the time and only shutdown for a few hours everyday.
i need to know whether its safe for this laptop?
Is there a chance for some internal circuits to get 'burnt' ? OR software problems to come up???

Leaving your laptop on doesnt hurt it but eventually it might get laggy so once in a while turn it off so it cools down and starts fresh. But there is no harm in having it on. On that note, while its on, make sure you dont move it around in an abnormal manner like putting it in your backbag and jumping around. If you do any of the sort then get ready to say bye bye to your harddrive as its made of very sensitive plates that spin at very high speeds and heaven forbid something goes wrong then you will be seeing a lot of errors and hearing beeps.. you dont want that so there is a risk factor involved.. Just thought id give you a heads up. Also make sure your laptop does get really hot or else if you have it on all the time and the LCD is closed then its possible that it might head up the LCD and eventually it would go bad. LOL besides these circumstances, you will be fine haha..

when you don't use it better shut it down as it is a compact system and it holds heat!!!
