People need distractions and the media culture creates ICONS (good and bad) that we all have a interest (good or bad). Why did you feel the need to take the time to write the question about it? Personally I'm not a big Anna Nicole Smith fan, but I do feel very sorry for her, because of all of the stuff she's had to go through like.. who her baby's dad is, and her son dieing, and now a trimspa lawsuit. It's too bad that it had to end up with her dying. It makes me so sad when people bad mouth her, because know one can really imagine what she went through. She was always strong and she never gave up when people were against her!

Because she is a 90's media icon and part of American History/Heritage, for better or worse.
Marilyn Monroe was he idol; it is sad she made the same mistakes as Marilyn did and will likely be immortalized for the same reason; dying sadly, tragically, before her time with the true cause of her death always in question and mystery.
