It's the given answer for the clue in my NYTimes crossword puzzle "Exhaustive." I can't find it in any online dictionary.

A to Z is correct. It fits the clue "exhaustive". If one were to perform an exhaustive search they would have searched from A to Z or atoz as it would appear in a crossword puzzle..

A to Z, as in "from A to Z"; ATOM has occasionally been clued in a similar manner, being the first half. You may see things like RANDR and BANDB, too.

i couldn't find a definition either...unless the eliminated spaces, then it could be read as A to Z. perhaps it is a typo
