Every day:
1. wash dishes.
2. wipe down countertops
3. pick up clutter and put away (carry a basket from room to room to put the clutter in. Finish one room before moving to the next)
4. make beds
5. wipe out the bathroom sink with some rubbing alcohol and paper towel
6. Take out trash if needed
Every week:
1. Scour sinks & tubs, shine up faucets
2. Clean the toilet
3. Sweep and mop the floors
4. Vacuum carpets
5. Change sheets & pillowcases
6. Dust furniture
7. Clean mirrors, tv screens, computer screens
8. Wash & dry laundry - put it away
9. Wipe down appliances, clean fridge and throw old food away
10. Wash out inside of wastebaskets, put fresh trashbags in
11. Sort through mail, papers & bills. Shred unwanted mail.
Monthly:
1. Vacuum furniture
2. Wipe fingerprints off doors, doorknobs, fridge door, etc
3. Wipe down telephones
4. Clean out the oven, put foil in the bottom to make it easier next time. (people say not to do this, but I have never had a problem with it)
5. Dust or vacuum under beds
6. Clean out cars
7. Clean out freezer and inside of fridge, wipe it down.
Spring & fall cleaning:
1. High dusting (you may want to do this every month or two also)
2. Clean window glass and windowsills
3. Wipe down baseboards & woodwork
4. Shampoo carpets
5. Clean out closets and throw away stuff you don't need
6. Change furnace filters/AC filters
7. Sweep and clean outdoor sidewalks, patio, garage
8. Go through junk drawers, pantries, etc and throw away unneeded stuff
I hope this covers everything. A great idea for toy storage is mesh laundry hampers. Sometimes you can find them in bright colors for kids' rooms. Clutter is the biggest obstacle and can make a house look messy when it is actually clean.
Best wishes!

Get organized. Put things away you don"t use everyday. A place for everything. Start in one corner of the room and work your way around. Putting things away first and then from the ceiling down do what needs to be done. Keep your cleaning supplies in a handy container with a handle so you can carry everything you will be needing with you. Take a room a week as your star room and clean that room completely, inside of windows, blinds, baseboards, pictures etc. That way you want feel like you are over your head. By the end of the month everyroom well be completely clean and the star rooms the next month will be even easier. Put things away as you use them, it only takes a few minutes to put one item away , but can take along time to put a weeks worth of items you have left out away.

I happen to be the only sibling in the house that likes a clean home. i hate when its messy. you have kids so it could be harder but this is what I do. !st take a hefty size filling utencil such as a giant bowl or small garbage can and go throughout the house while putting all garbage, and dishes in it. Then take a seperate one around for any toys, books, pens, anything that doesnt belong, etc. Take it to the kitchen and sort. That alone cuts cleaning time in half. When it comes to dishes sort the cups, small plates, big plates, and glasses while soaking the toughest stuff.......silverware. People ten to spend more time arguing with the pile of dishes in the sink rather than sorting them and washing them seperate. I guarentee this will help.

I know how you feel. There is no satisfaction in cleaning ang doing laundry for me anymore. I have 2 boys a husband a cat and a dog. I've learned not to spend more than 15 minutes in each room picking up, beacuse it will inevitably get messy again, and it's a waste of time. Go into a room, oick it up for 15 minutes and move on! Then return to the room later that day and do it again. Also invest in tons of rubbermaid bins, they work awesome and everythig will then have a "home". It'll get easier. take care.

I would just follow the pattern of the mess, unless you dont know how the mess is formed. If you usually know what kind of mess happens daily, make a plan and stick to the schedule. Make a list to do certain things certain days. Create a planner. Do a walk around of your house and notice what is where and why so you would know how to avoid it for the next time, and develop a plan to avoid the "extras". Someone else said it; organization is key. But first, you need to know what is where and why and then go from there with your plan. Create a blueprint, cuz it seem like you are in a hazard zone that you cant seem to get yourself out of, so you need to create these things to keep your sanity. Keep bulletins posted around your house to remind yourself of what you have to do. If you are overwhelmed writing these things down and keeping a visual will help you. Color code tasks if you have to.
Good Luck!

No, it's really hard to keep a house clean. All I do is clean too. I'm Obsessive Compulsive when it comes to neatness and orderlyness. I find that keeping the kids and the pets in a certain area with gates helps. I clean my kitchen as soon as I wake up. I keep the toys in the childrens rooms. I have no pets. I find that keeping doors shut to rooms that aren't used very often, keeps them very clean. Other than getting on psych meds, there's not help for clean house. Unless you hire someone to follow the mess around.

Okay, I know this will not help you right now because your children are still very young but once they're old enough, you should introduce to them the idea (at least occasionally) that they need to pick up after themselves and later, they should be assigned chores. The older they are, the more they should do. I say this because I have seen too many situations where mothers wind up doing *all* of the housework, and besides being unfair, it guarantees the kids are going to be slobs and make the mom's job even harder. File this one away for future use.

Hopefully your dogs aren't in the house. If they are, your home may never get clean.
If not:
Pick up the clutter and just throw it in a big box and put it in your garage or storage.
Nothing makes things feel dirtier than clutter.
Once you get rid of clutter, running a dust cloth over your bare table tops and bare counters is a sinch.
Good luck!

That's a great question. I have 3 kids and I don't know how others keep their houses so neat and tidy. Ours is always a wreck. I'll be watching for more good suggestions. Good luck.
