bristol airport is located on the a38, about 8 miles from bristol itself. its on the top of a hill so it can get quite cold and foggy this time of year! access is easy and it has loads of parking. look on the bristol international airport websit for all the details. I used to work there and its a nice airport. not to quiet but not super busy! hope that helps!

Bristol Airport is on the A38 15 miles from Central Bristol. It used to be a World War 2 Air Field, and has expanded below belief.

It is still called 'Lulsgate Airport' by the locals.

Access is along the A38. Much to the annoyance of the locals Sat Navs take you along several EXTREMELY narrow country lanes to get. When I say narrow I mean that - lots of houses open straight out on to the roads, and there are NO pavements or street lighting. It is VERY close to the village of Felton, and litterally on the other side of the road from the village primary school.

90% of the time it is really foggy - as clouds/fog/rain blow straight in from the Bristol Channel.

On the A38 (direction to Bridgwater) about 12 miles from the city centre. It's on top of a hill at the village of Lulsgate Bottom.

Weather can be very foggy in autumn and winter even if clear in the city. Don't worry though, the runway's fully equipped for aircraft autoland so delays are few.

Access by road is very easy. You can't miss the place. Enter from a roundabout on the A38. Bags of car parking and there are shuttle busses that run around the car parks to the terminal. The short term ones can be expensive. It's cheaper to book in advance (see the airport web site). Special long term parking areas are clearly signposted.

Busses run from Marlbourgh Road bus station in Broadmead but it can take a while to get there.
Local airport taxi companies can be good value for families. look in Yellow Pages.
