No, each baby's spirit is different and one does not reflect the other. The life event (the abortion of the first baby) of the family is separate and does not have anything to do with the second child. The mental illness is not a punishment for the second child because of the abortion of the first, if that's what you were getting at.

Yes, absolutely. It's called Post Abortion Stress Syndrome (PASS) and it is very real. I had an abortion 17 years ago and it causes me great regret and pain every day.

Abortion isn't something you "Commit"...It's a choice you make...If you feel it was the right choice then don't worry about that "Look" of it all. Of course things will be different because you don't have the child you had aborted anymore , but that has nothing to do with a mental illness. You could just have a lot of stress because of the situation but, if you feel as though you made the right choice then by all means...stand your ground...Good luck with everything...

Mental illness can stem from a number of factors including life expereinces, family mental health history, and chemical imbalances in the brain. My advice to you would be to seek professional help from a therapist and discuss your feelings and experiences with them.

you need to do more research on this... yes abortions can greatly effect the mother physically as well as mentally. it can even prevent you from ever being able to have another child. It can greatly impact the second child because if they are moral, they will more than likely have sever emtional upset and yes, thus leading to a mental condition. personally i would hate my mother for it.. but thats just me. best of luck

only if your parents were mentally scarred by the event, and took that out on you. the actual abortion itself had no impact whatsoever on you, since it didn't actually happen to you. ask your therapist for more details.

Yes. First of all, please read this article by Martha Shuping, M.D, "Are Later Children Affected by Abortion?":
http://www.afterabortion.info/hope/arti8.htm
It's important to note that common effects of abortion include ""...depression, loss of self-esteem, self-destructive behavior...chronic problems with relationships, dramatic personality changes, anxiety attacks, guilt and remorse....increased tendency toward violence...loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities and people, and difficulty bonding with later children." (Source: http://afterabortion.info/complic.html ). All of these would of course affect the next child who is born.
Statistically speaking, mothers who abort are more likely to abuse their other children:
http://www.afterabortion.info/PAR/V6/n1/ChildAbuseReenactment.htm
http://www.afterabortion.info/news/abuse1.htm
Your mother's abortion of your sibling most likely affected your home life in many ways, but it's difficult to say if that contributed to your mental illness.
If you are at all interested in spirituality, I recommend this short video:

Best wishes to you.
