The media is making it sound like it's the end of the world because she died. What made her so special? And if you are not from America, I would also like to know what you guys think too.

I'm mostly talking about the Yahoo Homepage story about her when I said that they are making it sound like it's the end of the world..some people need to learn to lighten up around here.

I lived in America for a huge portion of my life so i understand what you mean when you say the media is making it sound lik the end of the world. I remember when it was about her court case, etc.
Personally, I don't find her special. She was a playmate, she married a rich dude who died, fought for his money, marry some other guy. Had children. Etc.
Maybe its because they love all of her scandals, or whatever. Or maybe the media is just blowing it up because she's such an ironic icon.
Whatever it is, I hardly think there was anything special about it. Lots of girls marry rich dudes every day. Many of them were playmates too. Sadly, its pretty common.

Seriously, she did nothing of importance except to "abscond" with an old mans life savings at the expense of the rightful owners (namely the family)!
"IF" doing that justifys all the MEDIA COVERAGE than........this has become one sick country!!!

i've been wondering this myself. while she was alive, it was so easy for everyone to make fun of her, and now that she's dead everyone feels bad for all the awful things they've said about her. yes, she had a tragic life, and it's sad that her baby won't get to know her mother. but come on, everyone's treating this as if she were john lennon or something. what everyone should be doing is letting her rest in peace and give her family some space.

Nothing really, the media always makes everything a big deal. Its's just that she's had a lot of stuff going on recently, and now she's dead...She just had a baby, her 20 yr. old son just died, its kinda strange that she just died too. and she's had some drug issues..

It's Hollywood. It's the paparazzi. She is everything that Hollywood stands for (glamour, $$$, fake body parts, etc.)
What I couldn't understand is why everyone made such a big deal out of the whole Barbaro thing. It was a freakin' horse, for Christ's sake.

She was a huge attention getter. The kind of person you could count on to do or say something totally off the wall that made things interesting.

I think it's because of her background, where she came from, and the fact that she acted kind of naive and ditzy and likeable. Like you just wanted to go take care of her. And I don't think they are acting like it's the end of the world that she died, it's that it's kind of a mystery because her son just died too.

She was special because she helped allot of girls lose weight and have the courage to feel sexy doing it. yeah maybe she was an addict I don't know but I think she was really an inspiration and you really shouldn't talk like that about the dead!!!!
