What is considered the safe range of prenancy? Meaning at how far along are you when you can stop worrying about miscarrying? I am just wondering b/c this is my first pregnancy and everything seems to be normal but every pregnant woman worries about having a miscarriage. Thank you for all of your feedback from everyone!!!!

Most miscarriages occur during the first trimester, so unless you are pregnant with twins, multiples or have complications, you should have nothing to worry about. Every woman worries the most with her first pregnancy. I found reading about what was going on helped me to worry less. I do NOT recommend "What to Expect When You're Expecting" because it caused me to worry even more. Even my OB told me to throw it out. I liked "Your Pregnancy, Week by Week" by Curtis B. Glade, or for some lighthearted reading "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" by Vicki Iovine.

When I was only 2 months pregnant, I had to take along trip by bus. Usually it takes 16 to 18 hours but we got stopped at the border and it turned into a 30 hour or so trip. I was very anxious about a possible miscarriage but I went through that just fine. It seemed as if my daugther had gripped so hard in my tummy that she would never let go... and she didn't until due date came. So since then I'm convinced that if baby's development is normal and you don't have anything to put you in the risky group and you don't have an accident during pregnancy, there is no need at all to worry about miscarriage. Just take the normal precautions, take care of yourself and enjoy your pregnancy.

They say after your first trimester or once they are able to hear a heartbeat which could be sooner than the first trimester is up but it's usually at the same time. I know when I went to the doctor's office when I was about 12 or 13 weeks the doctor said after finding the heartbeat, "Heart beats are a good sign, usually means they are stuck in there for good now." It was kind of funny how she put it.

The rate goes down to like 2% after 13 weeks, so you can rest easy after that, but you probebly won't. I am 25 weeks and still worrying about something happening

usually three months preggers is a good time to stop worrying. But a miscarriage isn't always a bad sign, nature cleans itself up if you know what I mean.

How long do you worry? Until after your baby is born. Then you worry about other things.

You are usually pretty safe after about 28 weeks. I felt "safe" after 32 weeks because I knew my baby's chances of living outsdie the womb were better.
