this is a multimedia player (Digital Box is the name) and I can't figure out how to upload mp3's and play them successfully. I have tried using the software that came with the camera to no avail. Since this is not a mainstream player such as iPod, it's hard to find anything on this... anyone with information is greatly appreciated.

You should be able to just plug in the USB cable to the Scanport and your computer. The Scanport should show up as a disk drive. You can drag any MP3 file you have on the computer to the Scanport disk. Or....
Get iTunes it is free (site link below). iTunes will find and organize all of the MP3 files on your computer and it will find the Scanport. You can drag any of the music in your library to the Scanport. Once you have iTunes you can also purchase new music.

ITunes will allow you to convert any CDs that you have to MP3s and you can put them on your Scanport.

If you have trouble playing purchased software on your Scanport then you might want to get "tunebite" (link below). "tunebite" will convert your DRM protected musice to regular MP3 format. Then you have to copy those files to your Scanport.

Hope this helps.
