How old is too old to be an apprentice? I'm 26 and want a change of career but I'm not too sure if they would take me on as im older

I don't think you're ever too old ! There's nothing wrong with a change in career at any age ! I'm sure you would be considered as you would have a mature approach. The money wouldn't be very good for a 26 year old, but as long as you are happy to accept a low income, whilst following a vocation, then why should they refuse !!!! The very best of luck!

If you are prepared to do all the rubbish jobs, then they will take you on for the same rubbish pay that most apprentices get. Another option is to do a full time hairdressing course at college for two years. You are then considered as having completed your apprenticeship. If you combine this with some part-time salon work you have the best of both worlds.

I'm an Esthetician in the Spa industry. More mature apprentices are appreciated. The older and more desperate you are to start a good career the more likely you are to be dependable. I would use this as the reason they should hire you. Tell them you have done all your fun stuff now you want to learn and be successful.
