no way for stand alone pc. if it is connect with domain, we can make reset the password by logon with other user account.
if u want to make it to reset, u should create an alternative account with sufficient privilege right given to be interact.
u can upgrade ur pc with installation cd

You usually can't recovery it, just reset it. That's easier. There are some free utilities like boot disks that can reset a password. Or if you know someone with ERD Commander "not free".
