Yes. I think the producers pretty much know when they have something bad on their hands, so they try to hype it up with advertisement. It doesn't work at the end of the day. People are not stupid.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with your assessment (bad trailer = good movie, and vice-versa), but I'll tell you one thing I've discovered:

The LENGTH of time a trailer is in the theatres before the film is actually released is ABSOLUTELY connected to the quality of the film. Any film that has to be burned into our brains nine months (or more!) prior to release is just guaranteed to suck.

I know i was very excited to see the 2nd Bridget jones' diary movie..since the first one was soooooo good.and the trailer looked Sooooooo funny...very disappointing at the theater though..

yes, the Breakup with Jennifer Anasten looked SO good and I went to the movie and it was pretty awesome but the ending was horrible!!!

Maybe the critics are paid to give good and bad reviews, or they just too jaded to be objective.

this is the most unthought out question I have ever heard. You probably seen one movie that had a kool trailer that sucked. I can name countless movies with good trailers that were great movies.

yea thats why i like to go by word of mouth.the critics only look at long boring to us films to rave about..
