I was also induced with my child, and I don't want to do that again, either.

The good news is that the baby can't stay in there forever. I know you're ready for it be over with, but I would recommend letting nature take its course. There are hundreds of old wives tales about inducing labor, but the cool thing is that your body is designed to know exactly what to do and when to do it.

It will come. Sleep now! LOL

Having your membranes stripped isn't a fool-proof method unfortunately.
I went 2 whole weeks over my EDD with my third baby. It was awful....more so because of the pressure from others to get induced etc. I had a wonderful supportive Midwife whole monitored me closely and in the end I was still able to have another great homebirth.
Now, you can try some Labour inducing teas.....go onto Midwifery.com and search for a Verbena oil tea. None of those concoctions taste that great, but the idea is to stimulate your bowels which can in turn stimulate your uterus/cervix.
Sex and semen contact directly on your cervix is also a known labour inducer. It's a little tricky balancing around a 40 week belly though, LOL
When you feel those contractions, keep moving...do something. Staying still is what will make them die down again.
In the end, your baby willnot stay in there forever, as much as it feels like it at this point :) Messing too much with nature can only lead you down a slippery slope of unnecessary hopsital interventions. Just take one day at a time, consume yourself with baby preparations ( I know, I know, you've already been doing this for months, right? ) Try making more food preparations for after birth, like frozen casseroles etc. Clean your house and your vehicle....heck, maybe that kind of activity will help encourage babys arrival.
Being 3cm and 50% effaced os a really good start....you'll see, as soon as you relax and finally begin to put your mind on other things....your baby will arrive :)

**don't let your doctor threaten you with induction....as long as your non-stress tests are fine, you can safely go 2 weeks over, that would mean a full 42 weeks gestation

i became in touch in a talk approximately this final week the place some women persons have been debating no remember if or no longer it became valuable. For the main section, it appeared like if the toddler is waiting, you would be contracting very quickly after the membranes or stripped. apparently, stripping the membranes motives particular hormones to be released that set off labor. If the toddler and your physique are not waiting no longer something will take place. by the style, the lady who introduced the subject remember up had her membranes stripped that day and did have her toddler a pair of days afterwards.

I had this happen too. I bet your labor will go a little easier this time. Look, your cervix is already very favorable, and you're almost there. I also think that having as many contactions as you have been is a good sign that your body knows it's got to get the baby out. Any time now, Mommy!! Congrats!! I know there are alot of women on here that wish they were at the point you are.
Just think ~ you're going to be holding your baby girl very soon!!!

If you hate forcing it, why are you forcing it now? ;-)

You have two more weeks that would be considered normal for pregnancy...just relax and enjoy this last bit of time with your first baby, s/he'll never be an only child again. Get more sleep. Get your hair cut and nails done.

Do some walking, freeze some dinners, it'll happen before you know it! Congratulations on your impending baby...happy babymoon!

Having your membranes stripped sadly only works 40 to 50% of the time. You can call your OBs offive they can do it again, they will just need to be more aggresive

Take a really warm bath and walk around a lot, if you're in labour, this should bring it on more quickly!
Good luck and congrats on the precious Presley :)

Oh, bless, she's playing with you already!

Your baby will come soon, try walking, sex, curries...you probably have already but they are the only things I know about!

She'll come soon, don't worry.
