exactly how good is the EPT certainty HPT?? I have the digital one and I havent used it yet. I have an feeling that I might be pregnant but I dont want to waste a test if it is too soon to test. I have spent soooo much money over the past few months on pregnancy tests..so my hubby wants me to only use it if I really need to. My period is due on sunday the 11th. I took a Home pregnancy test on the 7th in the evening and it was negative. should I retest again tomorrow morning the 10th?? or should I just hold out and see if I get my period or not?? How accurate are the digital tests..I am nervous to use it. I have heard so many stories of people getting very faint almost not noticable positive results from the regular HPT....but that cant happen with a digital one...right?? are digital HPT more sensitive or no?? have any woman out there gotten alot of negative results from a digital even though they were pregnant?? how soon did some women get positive results from the digital?

Wait until Monday! I too have Wasted a small fortune on pregnancy test! The ones that say you can tell before you miss a period... If you read all the info in the box... it says MAY tell up to 5 day prior to missed period only about 30% can get an accurate positive that early and about 60% 3day prior but like 98% the day after you should have started. I have 3 kids and had negative EPT with ALL of them because I tested to early!

Good Luck!

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

First, take a deep breath and relax. I would at least wait until your period is a couple days late. You hubby is right they are expensive. I don't think the digital ones are anymore accurate. My mom works in a lab at a hospital and they use some that are not digital and she says they are always accurate. A perk for me she can bring them home and I can test for free. You can get results up to 5 days before your missed period but it only about a 50% chance and every day you wait the percentage goes up. It should tell you that in the package. Good luck and relax.

I took a dollar store "two pink lines" test and it was negative. Two days later, I took an EPT and another dollar store test and they both came up positive. I don't believe the digital tests are any better than the cheaper ones.

I heard that ept certainty was reading at 50 mIU/ml which means you probably should wait until you are late with your period and when testing use first morning urnie as it is the most concentrated...hope this helps...you can also go to www.peeonastick.com to find out the sensitivity of different brands of hpt test..the lower the mIU/ml the better. Good Luck!

Just wait until your period is due, then wait a couple more days before testing. You might delay your period by thinking that you are pregnant, so relax. I know that you want to know, and you want to know NOW, but until your body is ready to give up its secrets, there is nothing you can do to find out.
