Any answer to this says more about the person themselves. Beauty is a person's perception of another, which is made up of many different aspects. Everyone's idea of what makes a person 'beautiful' varies, with this in mind, you could never make everyone the same. Looks can be an advantage but as with everything, can also be a disadvantage. Never confuse good looks with beauty, they are not the same.

What is beautiful is a complex thing. Look at all the painting of woman of past times. Most would not be considered beauties now. Yet in their day, men would 'die' for them.

We now have, in Britain and the USA, a cult of the skinny woman. The so call size 0. A hundred years ago, the woman with a dress size less than 12 would have been considered under-fed and so not to be married because she would not bear children well.

It is also the case that beauty can come from within. Look at Joanna Lumly and Julie Walters - probably two of the most beautiful woman in the world, yet they can turn themselves into the ugliest without the use of make up.

Many woman (and men) can do the reverse if they but knew it.

Physical beauty isnt.

As sad as it is, it's a fact that beautiful people have more oppurtunities and get away with many things, whereas people that are less physically attractive have to work hard to get what they want.

The flip side is, beautiful is not necessarily attractive since we all percieve beauty differently. What appeals to someone is a major turn off for another (thank God for that).

That does not mean that a person should not try to look his/her best. I would appreciate a well-groomed person with modest looks but with a sense of style and refinement way more than a shabby no-class looker.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder right? Turn me inside out and it may be the most beautiful thing to a surgeon. Look at Body World Exhibits, the human bodies preserved by plastination. You may view this a macabre or gruesome or you may be in total awe at the complexities of the human body. Beauty is completely subjective and that is what makes all the differences in people so amazing.

Beauty is a fleeting thing, a chasing after the wind. The human body is an amazing and mostly beautiful creation. However, beauty doesn't last, and trying to preserve it is like trying to keep iron from rusting in the rain. Good question.
PS- you can't have beauty without ugly.

I think so. I mean think about it, haven't you ever met someone that really isn't that attractive, but they have a great personality, very smart, and just everything that you are looking for in a partner. The only thing missing is the "looks". Is that going to sway you from what might be the love of your life?
I have met very attractive people in my time, and some were good people, but the majority of them ended up self-centered and only cared about one thing-themselves.

I was having this very discussion the other day and I conclude that if everyone was born inside out then that would be the norm, and no one would think it's unattractive. Now we do but only because we're not use to seeing inside out people.

no1 can really say what beauty is to one person u could be as ugly as a hung over hoar in their bed after a really stupid night out
to others u could be really cute, but if everyone was tuned inside out then that would wipe out racism and people that think they're better than everyone else it would also be impossible u would lose blood 2 fast, it would be really cold too.

Physical beauty is skin deep, yes, but there are all sorts of beauty. The best being the one that can always sees the genuine underneath bit of a person. (What have I said?)

Turning me inside out would not improve my selection stakes, which aren't high to start with, but thanks for getting me back on to my diet...
