Yes, because homosexuality is completely normal and natural and children should be taught that. By teaching them that it is wrong and unnatural, they will likely become hateful and judgemental towards a fellow human being. What kind of example is that to set for your children?

I think children need be taught to be tolerant of all races, religions and sexual orientations. I don't teach my kids to be judgmental of other people's life-styles. I teach them to accept people for who they are - are they nice to you and others? Are they honest, law abiding, contributing members of our society? Do they care about the world around them? That is how I've taught my kids to judge people. What people do in their own home is none of my, or anyone else's, business. My kids can decide on their own if they feel homosexuality is an acceptable life style or not.

Some of these innocents will need to know how they are going to live. Others will not be interested but should be taught the same such that they don't hold the prejudicial views that some of their parents might espouse.

Or would you (misguidedly) suggest that, by solely teaching these innocents about heterosexuality in Sex Ed., they should all turn out content to be straight?

The question I think should be:
Do you think it is ok to teach inocent children bigotry ,racist and homophobic behavior?

because that is what you are doing by acting like something doesnt exist or is bad when it does exist, and is not bad.

First of all God does not make mistakes and Homosexual behavior has been going on since the begining of time, and goes on in the animal kingdom as well as in the human world. Just because you are straight doesn't mean you are the only right way. Just because you are white doesn't mean you are the only right color. Just because you are American doesn't mean you are the only right race. Just because you are male doesn't mean you are the only right sex.

I happen to be a multi racial lesbian mother who is proud to be who I am and I am a DAM GOOD mother!!! I have children who are straight "A" students, and volunteer their time in community service projects more than most straight parents children. Because they know what it is like to be persecuted by people like you!.

Just my two cents as the femme of the duo Hersband and Wife the LEGALY MARRIED COUPLE of lesbian advice columnist!

It's just as OK as teaching innocent children that heterosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle.

Let's face it...the contributions of homosexuals to this world (in the arenas of sports, architecture, literature, music, government, politics, environmental issues, science, medicine, etc.) should be acknowledged just as much as the "straight" accomplishments. And you cannot talk of the GLBT community without discussing sexuality.

The question is biased with the inclusion of the word 'innocent' so clearly no pro-gay answer is gonna get 10 points from you; you are just looking to get homophobic answers from others out there to support your already made up mind.

That being said, I think the best thing is to unbiasedly tell children what homsexuality is, that there are differing views on it and that (tell them why you have a dissenting view), and let them make there own minds as to whether or not they have moral objections to it.

Just like any "sex" subject, we answer our kids questions open and honestly, we discuss what they hear from other kids and from family life education. Would I sit down and present homosexuality to them as a valid or invalid lifestyle? No, but as they encounter referrences to it we talk about it.

So no, I would not present it to children except to acknowledge it's existance. As they mature and reach puberty, they may need some further explaintion and if they feel that they are attracted to their sex, then they would need to really undestand the implications. Sadly, if that occurs I'd want to have a good resource which Y! answers doesn't appear to be.

Sure.
After all there is nothing wrong with telling children that two people who love each other is the greatest thing in the world.
On the other hand, I think teaching kids to be judgemental morons who follow an outdated book of bronze-age jewish mythology, should be treated as abuse and punishable by prison.

Yes, I do, but then again I also find it acceptable to teach children that there is more than one religion and believing that even though you might not agree with that religion it is acceptable for someone to believe it.

Yes I do. Children, before they are taught religion, form freindships of the same sex. They would go on to form deeper attachments of those same sex if they weren't taught that a big vicious God in the sky would come and punish them for loving their freind.
Contrary to popular belief, it's been happening for millenia, through all cultures, whether you want to believe it or not. If children are taught it in innocence, they'll go on believing it's good. It's when religion comes in and starts mucking things up that the apple gets dropped into paradise...you folks did it on your own, so don't blame either Eve or the Snake. Adam had a mind of his own.
