If I were stuck in the woods and can't see anything. My only companions are a bunch of prickly trees and an annoying mound of blokes ready to snatch my food away at any instant.

I'm hungry, I'm thirsty and when I look up. I see a big yellow thing which reminds me of of a plate or an omellete. Of course I'd lift up anything I can use to point and howl at it!

And of course, the lo cate thing.

I have never seen a very satisfying explanation of that question. In fact, I’m not sure just why they howl at all. Of course, wolves in the wild hunt in packs. So howling might be a way of telling each other where they are.

I can’t think of a good reason why a full moon would make any difference. I wonder if that part is really true. Maybe it’s just an idea that people talk about the werewolf, but don’t bother to see if it is true.

Wolves don't howl to the moon. This predators are nocturnal hunter animals, and the way they use to keep up a correspondence with every different, to locate their % participants and warn viable intruders is by way of howling. Considering that that is carried out most often throughout the night, it is a original perception that they are howling to the moon, however they are going to howl during the night time every time they have got to comunicate, regardless if it is full moon, new moon, cloudy or even though its during the sunlight hours.

I've been told I am part wolf, and man that moon makes you do strange things and have the weirdest dreams.

Actually wolves howl to locate members of their pack. The moon acts as the perfect nightlight to spot movement.

Also wolves are big hams...the moon is the spot light and all the world is their stage. HOWL!!!!

I think they are singing. I work for a no-kill shelter and the dogs break out in "howl" every once in a while and it is very musical. We had one lab, Molly, who would start the howling. She had a very musical voice and the other dogs would try to harmonize with her. When she was adopted, the dogs ceased the howling for a few weeks until another "song-leader" was brought in. One time, and this was really strange, a dog was being euthanized at the clinic next door. He was very sick and had no quality of life. As he was crossing, the dogs in the shelter started a very low, mournful howl I had never heard before. Every dog kept it very low, very slow. It was moving and freaky at the same time.

In the Bible in the Book of Revelation it says that every creature including dogs and wolves and fish will raise their voice and praise the Lord.
Revelation 5:13
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

When I brought my first child home my dog jumped up on the bed with me and howled like her heart was broken. I quieted her down and called the vet. The Vet said she could be having like a nervous breakdown. I have always wondered what happened to Lady that day. Only that one time in her life did she ever speak like that.

They don't. They howl to locate other wolves. Since they do it often, then occasionally they will do it during a full moon.
