With regard to the allegations you made regarding one of our most devoted volunteers.
Madame CHOLET was a lady of high morals and integrity, who never heard of Women's Lib. She kept house for all those furry males who brought home all sorts of junk and shed fur all over the place. She cooked delicious food such as casseroled rabbit with herbs, snails in garlic, and Quiche Lorraine. The BBC vetted her and she had an unblemished record.
What do you know of Womble ladies' undergarments? Nothing at all, because they wear stays and corsets, AND French knickers that go down to their knees and have VERY solid elastic top and bottom. And what accent did you expect her to have? Estuary English, when her French lineage went all the way back to the lovely town of Cholet in patriotic Vendée from where all the best handkerchieves come from?
How dare you besmirch the reputation of a defenceless old lady and, what is more, a Dame of the French Republic in front of a widespread audience like Yahoo? You deserve to be reported and your question suppressed on the grounds of slander and vilification. If she was around she would deal with you smartly and send you to Coventry with a good slap round the ear hole.
Easy morals indeed...I have never heard the like.
I have contacted the Wimbledon crew and this is their response to your slurs:
We Wombles are not like humans and we do not say anything about the undergarments, or lack of them, worn by girls on Wimbledon Common. We have found so many of these things in the bushes, and we have no idea why or how they get discarded so easily. Some people must be enjoying going about with their kit off. We have to give tons to the Salvation Army on a regular basis.
