In the United States and North America, it's called Where's Waldo, for sure. But in the UK and many other countries, it's called Where's Wally, which is the original name.

it's called where's waldo... I think it is a lot older than the ten years that someone else said.. since I "vaguely" remember it from when I was a teen... 1980's
until just now, the only place I have ever seen, heard or known anything about "Wally's World" would be from National Lampoon's Vacation..... Chevy Chase he took his family on a road trip the destination: Wally's World....

The book with the guy that you have to find in every picture is Where's Waldo. Often I hear people refer to the store Wal-Mart as "Wally's World" - kind of like how people sometimes call McDonald's "Mickey D's".
