Its getting to the point where

1) I drive
2) I get out of the car
3) I go to close the door ... and as soon as my finger hits the metal part of the door BOOM i get shocked...

and if I avoid all contact with any metal on the car, then I end up getting shocked by the metal doorknob when I go into a building ...

I'm getting really tired of this, its to the point that I dont even like driving because I know that as soon as exit my car, im in for a jolt of pain .. what can I do to stop this?

Static electricity, this is the time of year for it, more than likely you are scooting your bottom across the seat when you get out of your car, buy a can of static guard and spray your clothes and your car seat I keep 2 cans at all times one for the house and one for the car. I find static guard in the laundry, starch, spot cleaner isle at Wal-mart or the grocery store.

When you slide on the seat to get out you are creating friction and that is just like rubbing your feet on a carpet and touching a doorknob and getting shocked. You build up static electricty when you slide out of the seat and then touch the metal and zap you get shocked.

You walk across the rug, reach for the doorknob and..........ZAP!!! You get a shock.

Or, you come inside from the cold, pull off your hat and......BOING!!! All your hair stands on end. What is going on here? And why does it seem to only happen in the winter?

The answer is:
STATIC ELECTRICITY

happens to me too. it's because of the weather but also because of the friction caused by you moving around in your seat. i'm assuming you have cloth, most likely wool, interior and that causes static build up. one way around it, is touch your keys to the metal of your car when you get out to diffuse it. hope that helps.

circulate to a automobile components service provider and ask them for some thing like anti static straps which carry down the lower back of autos close to the lower back tyres. i do no longer understand what you all them as I actual have by no ability used them.
