VERY carefully - I broke two attempting this! My tip would be to buy the mirror from a Ford dealer and ask them to fit it for you - believe me - if they charge you a few pound it will be worth it. I cracked both of mine up the middle with the pressure of pushing the mirror into the holder... I eventually bought two new mirrors and sold the car with the mirrors on the back seat. Be careful!

I assume that you are talking about the sideview mirrors. Well when I worked at a glass shop and we did this all day.
1. Clean out all the old mirror and glue.
2. Clean the back side of the new mirror.
3. Put some urethane or some kind of glue that will stick, available at auto parts stores. Don't put on clumps just string it so that it covers a large surface area.
4. Place the mirror on the housing, do not push in one spot with fingers, use your whole hand to just make sure it secures itself with glue.
I remeber the mirrors were like 5-8 dollars and we put it on for like another 5 dollars (except for the heated mirrors, which you do not have). Take to the same place that can replace your windsheild which would most likely be a glass shop. They can do it for you. If the mirror is not available they can make one for you with now problem.

Go to your local glazier and they should be able to do this for you. It is a lot cheaper than buying the mirror from the dealer. But if you already have the mirror, then pour some hot water over the plastic frame and that will soften it, and help the mirror pop in. If you need to give it a bit of a nudge then use an icy pole stick or a hard piece of plastic(plastic knife) to get that last corner in.
Oh I almost forgot, also if you are using glue make sure it is non acetic silicone nothing else, or it will eat away at the back of the mirror.

if it is just the glass smashed then go to some one like halfords the do replacement glass that just sticks on with a self adhesive pad , you clean as much old glass away with a cloth then put a tab that comes with the glass on the reflctive side ( the bit you look into) then peel the backing paper off line it up and place on to old glass then press evenly round the glass to make sure off a good contact.
If on the other hand the glass and backing plate has come off you will need to go to a good scrappy or main dealer ( these backing plates are £12 or so from them) some of them have the glass already on them then all you do is put it to the wing mirror lining up a tab nearest to where the mirror is attached to the door put it in the press the mirror on to the ball joint pushing the centre only where it meets the ball joint once it clips in check you can adjust mirror with the internal arm or switch.

OK If i remember correctly they fit onto a small ball socket behind the mirror. A small amount of wd40 on the ball inside the mirror and apply gentle pressure until it pops on. Job done, but remember gentle pressure or it cracks the mirror glass again
