I know, I know! I know that most people are going to say that diet pills only work when combined with diet and exercise. I understand that. But my biggest problem is over-eating. I have heard that these diet pill stop your desire to snack and make you feel full so that you don't eat as much. My problem is that even when I am trying to cut down, I have no will power when I feel hungry, so I eat and eat till I feel full. I am about 20-25 lbs. over weight right now, and really want to loose it. I have cut out all sodas from my diet and also have begun watching the amount of carbs and sugars in and food I eat. I work for a dr and he told me that it is not about counting calories and that studies have shown it is better to count carbs and sugars. But I need something to curb these cravings and the need to over eat.

By on the market, I mean the ones that you see at the supermarket or at places like GNC. I am not looking to buy anything online.
Trimspa?
Relacore?
Leptopril?
Any like that, that you hear alot about on television.

Hi LittleMermaid!!
There are many types of weight loss pills and diet pills in the market. Some of these pills will curb your appetite, some supposedly speed up your metabolism and some are supposed to prevent your body from absorbing too much oil from your diet or restrict absorption of carbohydrate. But they all have one thing in common. Once you are off the pills, you will put on weight again. Therefore taking weight loss pills or diet pills are only temporary solutions. They do not condition your body to burn unwanted fat forever. On the contrary, your body may even adapt and resist the effects of the pills making you waste even more money and causing you more frustration.
So what is the best solution for permanent weight loss? Well, just do these 3 things:-
1. Build Muscle – The more muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn.
2. Change Eating Habit – Eat your carbohydrate early in the day and restrict carbohydrate consumption later part of the day.
3. Exercise Your Heart and Lungs – Go for regular exercise and perform exercises that will make you puff, pant and sweat such as jogging, skipping or take part in ball games.
When these 3 activities become part of your daily routine, you will be burning extra calories every day. That means you will not put on weight easily and will lose body fat forever.

None of that stuff works. I tried one for a while, lost maybe a pound or two a month (WHILE dieting and exercising!). Then I stopped taking the diet pill, and I still lost a pound or two a month (while still dieting and exercising). Thus the pills do not do anything but take money out of your pocket and put it into someone else's.
Plus the diet pills screw up your system too much.
Snack on fruits and veggies. Try the Slim Fast Optima shakes, they work for me and my hunger pangs.
As for that new drug Alli (the ONLY diet pill FDA approved), make sure you really research that drug and the side effects. Research all reviews of the diet pill you plan on taking before taking it... some pretty nasty side affects.

DIETS PILL DONT WORK because they are temporary.
You need education in nutrition....
You should eat to live and not live to eat.
Have you thought about having your meals prepared for you frozen and then heating them in the microwave.
This is what I am doing at the moment and the weight is falling off.
The temptation is no longer there. In Australia there is a brand name called lean cuisine.
IF you have that and nothing else at your mail meal. and snack on fruits and veges like carrots, apples and oranges or even grapes you will loose the weight.
Diet pills only give a temporary fix to the problem.
YOU need to re educate your self so the loss will last.

If I were you, I'd read all of the side-effects, before purchasing, as much as your patient enough to do so!! Check out TrimSpa, because you just never know.......Anna may have lost all that weight from that diet, and not drugs, as people are saying! And it may very well be an effective diet, after all !!! Good Luck, to you! Smile!!!!

The best diet pill is Meridia. It's awesome. When I took it I lost 25 pounds. It made me feel like I wanted to be healthy, you couldn't make me cheat on my diet no matter what temptation. I kept the weight off for 2 years now. You would have to ask your doctor for a prescription though. It's expensive and Worth every penny!!

I don't know exactly what it's called but the FDA just recently approved the first OTC (over the counter) diet pill. It's supposed to curb your appetite so i think that is exactly what you are looking for. I found the article so check it out.
