Muslims claim in North America and Europe, that they are being oppressed. I find the complete opposite. Muslims have been given greater care in N.A. and Europe since 9/11 to make sure that they don't feel "oppressed". Yet they keep claiming injustice, where there is no injustice. How would a white person be treated in Iran, Saudi Arabia, or some other Middle East coutnry (excluding the Jewish state). I'm sure that we would then really find a case of oppression!

When ever I hear a Muslim or anyone claim discrimination or oppression of Islam it convinces me that they are part of the problem.

Their understanding of oppression is simply an undereducated way of thinking about the world, hence, if they follow the Koran, anyone who does not believe must be infidel or a Jew and must be killed. With that kind of mentality it would only take the mere mention of oppression by a Muslim cleric to in-bed the thought.

Muslim clerics around the world who claim they are part of a peaceful religion, need to speak out and keep speaking out until fanatical islam is dead!

I too am sick and tired of seeing and hearing of all of the condemnation, riots and demonstrations regarding published cartoons, a speech by the Pope and all of the "injustice and oppression" these people allege.
Like the Old Guy's posting, I want to see some real concern and condemnation for the acts of terror and murder of innocent people by the extremists - I want to see some real support for this country - BY ALL AMERICANS.
In other words, I'm sick and tired of the passive support for the acts of terror that most Muslims seem to convey by their apparent apathy and inaction.
Imagine the outcry from the overwhelming, vast majority of Christians, Buddhists or Jews or any other mainstream religion if these acts of terror and murder were being carried out in the name of their religion - it's not hard to imagine the outcry and condemnation.
Wake up, Muslims, your alleged oppression is of your own making!

"Muslims claim in North America and Europe, that they are being oppressed."

Do you have a source for that statement? Sounds made up to me.

It's just too much of a blanket statement. I try to read "the newspapers" but I'm consistently let down by the obvious pro-Israel/pro-American slant against Arabs and Muslims and, of course, the exploitation of "terror".

I keep sourcing this because it's a great video to see how the slant is indeed real: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6604775898578139565

So Muslims do have a gripe against a biased media which, in turn, influences the population to be anti-Muslim and anti-Arab. They are trying to paint a good vs. evil scenario which is bogus. I mean which side has killed 500,000+ Iraqis?

Do you know why Iran (and countless other nations) hates the U.S.? Another video, this one from PBS from the 80s: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8536707153900925247

I'm so sick of it. Its disgusting and an absolute lie. Muslims have no right to talk about oppresion. In countries where muslims are in control there is no tolerance for people of different religions or beliefs. Their sharia law is the law of savages. I have zero respect for a culture and religion that treats people the way muslims do when they are in charge.
When they start showing tolerance and stop their oppresion of others that is when I will consider their complaints.

it's not so much oppression as it is being outcast in a sense .... most of the time people do it without realizing it.. my brother-in-law is from Pakistan.. and he works for Bank of America... well when he first started he couldn't even get a single client because they would hear/see the name Irfan and go right on to the next person.. so he changed the name he told people and on his tag to Eric... instant business.. it's little things like that that make them feel a little ostracized..

P.S. The hair rocks!

There are many documented instances of prejudice at work as well as hate crimes towards muslims, arabs, and middle eastern people in general, especially since 9/11. Even this forum is pervaded with hate towards those groups. I am not an Arab or Muslim, but I have spent many years in the middle east and even gulf countries and never experienced anything but kindness and respect. It is a shame there are people like you in this world.

No. Muslims in America have not been given anything to make sure they don't feel oppressed.

If you don't think you would be treated fairly in the Middle East (including Israel), don't go.

If they feel oppressed here, maybe they should move back to their own country where they belong.
