Because he's giving away money so that he can reabilitate himself - it isn't going to work though.

As he says:

'Infamy, Infamy - they all have it infamy'

Mind you at least he didn't try to burn down any hotels.

Archer was never at oxford university,he was for a time enrolled in some course in oxford, the city, but was never at the famous university,he has spent a great deal of his life lying, and getting away with it,that how he is,probably has a big inferiority complex and has to lie to make himself feel Good, yes, his books are rubbish too!

My mum still likes reading his books and she's completely disinterested in politics so is probably only vaguely aware of archers past (my mum's also disinterested in prostitutes on train stations). I think he should have been stripped of his knighthood for sure.

I also wondered that when I saw the trailer. I thought his conviction for Perjury wouldn't have made him top of the list of candidates. And don't forget there's also Stan 'The dogging fiend' Collymore ......car crash TV methinks......but I'll be watching!!!

Why shouldn't he? . He did his time and didn't whine about it so why should that follow him around. I believe he is one of the few that has become a better person by being locked up

Because we don't seem to punish people for crimes anymore. I say he should be publicly flogged.
