I did not think that there was for a long time then something happened to change my mind.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

Fact: the human race has been around for hundreds of thousands of years.

Fact: the concepts of an afterlife, of gods, spirits, etc. have only been around for a few millenia.

Fact: these concepts were invented and promulgated by ignorant barbarians as an attempt to explain the world around them, before there was a such thing as science or epistemology.

Fact: most of the books of the bible were written by people who were never there, as second- or third-hand accounts decades or even centuries after the events they claim to tell about.

Fact: the books of the bible have been heavily edited over the centuries, with passages or even whole books being re-written or omitted to fit the theological and political climates of the time.

Fact: the books of the bible have also been subject to extensive errors, misinterpretations, and differences of opinion in interpretation as they are translated from one language to another and from that to yet another language.

Knowing all this, how can yours or ANY religion be viewed as anything BUT the invention of men? I know this may not be what you want to hear, and I doubt I'll do much harm to your faith; faith is remarkably impervious to reason.

While it might be nice to visit long dead relatives or to think we'll live a life of eternal bliss, without proof, its' just fanciful thinking.

Atma never dies--to put it only the heart stopped beating and other things followed. So nature's law says if one thing goes another thing emerges.
Creationis there after destruction in any field which we experience in day to day life. Similarly definitely, logically life must be there after death.

well the whole princible of having faith is to belive in something that you cannot see or hear. but yes i do believ e there is life after death and depending what type of person you were in this life, it will either be rewarding to you in the after life, or not so rewarding. p.s that was a RUN ON SENTINCE . im sorry

There is no way of knowing that, and besides, believing in an eternal life never helped anyone live for eternity, neither will disbelieving. What ever happens can only be discovered when you get there, so why waste time thinking about it now?

I think there is. I think life is a test for the after life. Life also prepares you for the after life. That's why my life is a living hell. I know where I'm heading.

depends on how u look at it.

wen u die, for some time, things that live in u, live on till they die, if u r beuried, u will provide live by organisims eating u, so there cud be life after your death, cos life goes on.

you cud be rencarnated, as something else, so ur body is left but ur spirit moves on to another creature on this earth.

you could be a goast like caspa.

u cud go to another level of life, like a god or heavbenly creature,

there cud be like a family tree, but its u on every branch, only when you die you go from one level to the next

you cud go on to live in other worlds.

or you vcud just cease to exist.
