So far I've only read Bitten and Stolen, but plan to read her other Women of the Otherworld stories in the future. I liked Stolen better than Bitten. My favorite character is Jeremy, he's such an enigma.

For other authors kind of like her you could try Christine Feehan's Dark books, the first one is called Dark Prince, or Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter books. Night Pleasures is the first of that series but there is a prequel called Fantasy Lover which is very, very good too. Both series deal with vampires and shapeshifters.

Right now I'm reading the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine which you might like as well. The first book is Ill Wind. The stories involve humans that can control the weather and supernatural beings but, there are not any vamps or werewolves in these stories. However, they follow the same action/suspense type storytelling as the Kelley Armstrong and Patricia Briggs stories.

Some of the early Tanith Lee - The Birthgrave etc.
Chelsea Quinn Yarbro has a number of books featuring the vampire St Germain. A bit reminiscent of Anne Rice's vampire stories but I think they predate hers.
Lynsay Sands' Argeneau vampire series is a very funny take on a family of vampires.
Emma Holly - The Demon's Daughter et al.
Kresley Cole
Kim Harrison
Karen Fox - another light hearted series.
Angela Knight

Incidentally Rachael Caine the author of the Weather Warden series mentioned above is starting a new series called the Morgansville Vampires. I have just finished the first- protagonists are all teenagers bit too Buffy for me.

I love Armstrong's books. I don't really have a favorite character or book, I like them all. You might wanna try Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Series and MaryJanice Davidson's Undead Series.

Several web sites offer online full-texts of books that are out of copyright. However, aside from the copyright owner, which is almost always the author or their publisher, ANYONE who posts the text of these books online is violating both the U.S. and the International Copyright laws, infringing on Intellectual Property, and can be fined and jailed for it. Writers make a living by creating their work. To read or use it without paying for it, is STEALING, pure and simple. If you value the work enough to read it, pay for it. SUPPORT A WRITE! BUY A BOOK!
