I mean Internet browser windows of course. Am I the only one who always right clicks on links "Open in New Window"?

for me, 10 or so, I usually fill the task bar and I get a scroll down arrow to see the rest of the windows

I can have up to 8 at a time. Right now I have 4.

I use FireFox, and so use tabs. With a plugin to restore the last tabs when I closed, there is no need for me to close pages I use regularly.

Right now I have 6 tabs open, but I have had up to 20.

As for program windows, I rarely have less than 5 open.

I have about 5 windows open. When someone comes by I have to make it look like I am working LOL
